Editor of Shakespeare Survey for almost twenty years, he is co-editor of The Cambridge Companion to Shakespeare on Stage and The New Cambridge Companion to Shakespeare. Peter J Smith, reader in Renaissance literature at Nottingham Trent University and a trustee of the British Shakespeare Association, is the author of Between Two Stools and Social Shakespeare. He has published recently on Othello on screen and Derek Jarman’s film version of The Tempest.
